Katie Holmes has steered clear of public events since her high-profile divorce from Tom Cruise, but she gamely took to the stage at the Style Awards at Lincoln Center last night.
The actress addressed a room full of top designers and showbiz stars as she presented the Designer Of The Year Award to Venezuelan-American designer Carolina Herrera.
An understated Holmes wore one of the designer’s looks, a simple black long sleeve shirt and gold skirt with beaded details around the waist.
The “Dawson’s Creek” star officially divorced Cruise Aug. 21, but as Page Six revealed, Holmes has been keeping herself busy. She’ll debut her fashion line “Holmes and Yang” at New York Fashion Week and has just signed a deal as the first celebrity face of cosmetics company Bobby Brown.
