Stephen Daldry, who’s rumored to direct the screen adaptation of “Wicked,” introduced a showing of “August: Osage County,” starring Meryl Streep, for the Broadway set Monday. Guests at the Paris included Joe Mantello, director of Sting’s musical “The Last Ship,” Alan Cumming, Joel Grey, Bernadette Peters, Michael Shannon, Rosemary Harris and Michael Urie. Daldry, who directed Streep in “The Hours” more than a decade ago, praised her “August” performance as “transcendent.”
