Fans are up in arms about Beyoncegate, but the singer “didn’t think there was anything wrong” with lip-synching the national anthem at the presidential inauguration Monday, US Weekly reports.
“Pavarotti has done it!” a source close to the singer tells the mag. “It was freezing out and if she messed up just one note that would have been the story.”
The source even claims that the musical director advised Beyonce to go through the motions instead of singing live.
“She did sing,” the source insists. “She just used a track.”
But after Page Six was first to expose her subterfuge, the source said Bey’s down in the dumps: “A technicality which everybody does took away from the beauty of the moment.”
