Newt Gingrich was bitten by a penguin while getting a private tour of the St. Louis Zoo on Friday, People reports today. The Republican presidential candidate was reportedly nipped on his finger, requiring the application of a Band-Aid.

Stylist Rita Hazan has explained the inspiration behind Katy Perry’s new purple hair, which the singer debuted at the Coachella Music Festival this weekend. Hazan tells Page Six today, “Her new color is what I call purple velvet. It’s dark and rich. It’s very punk rock. I love creating colors for her because she always knows how to rock it.”
