Jennifer Aniston is reportedly “happy” that her ex-husband Brad Pitt is newly engaged to longtime love Angelina Jolie, reports say.

Despite having called Angelina Jolie “really uncool” for admitting to falling for Pitt on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” while he was still married to Aniston, reports say that the “Friends” actress is not only “happy” that the couple plans to wed but is also “grateful for how things turned out.”

“Jennifer is happy for Brad and Angelina,” a source tells the website HollywoodLife.com. “She is so in love with Justin [Theroux], that she is really grateful how things turned out. In a strange way if it weren’t for Angelina, Jennifer would not have connected with Justin in a romantic way.”

After her failed marriage to Pitt, and high-profile romances with John Mayer and Vince Vaughn, Aniston began dating her “Wanderlust” co-star Theroux in June of last year. Their romance shares some parallels to Jolie and Pitt’s, as Theroux was in a 14-year relationship with stylist and Bivens when he and Aniston bonded on the set of the film in Georgia. However, Aniston has held strong strong that “nothing happened” while filming the movie, and that she and Theroux did not become involved until after he split from Bivens.

Theroux and Aniston appear very happy together in photos and are often seen out in matching ensembles. Aniston recently said of her boyfriend to Marie Claire Australia, “He’s a protector, for sure. He’s just a good human being.”

In 2008, Aniston opened up to Vogue about her split from Pitt.

“I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool,” said Aniston, criticizing Jolie for talking about their relationship starting on set.

However, she shared that she and Pitt had remained friends through their split.

“[We’ve exchanged] a few very kind hellos … and congratulations on your babies,” said Aniston. “Pretty soon after we separated, we got on the phone and we had a long, long conversation with each other and said a lot of things, and ever since we’ve been unbelievably warm and respectful of each other.”

The actress has yet to comment on news of Jolie and Pitt’s engagement directly.
