Naked Cowboy Robert Burck and Naked Indian Adam David have smoked the peace pipe, putting an end to a year-long Times Square turf war. Burck, who owns the Naked Cowboy trademark, threatened to sue David last year, but they now insist it was pure love that led to the Naked Indian signing a franchise agreement. There still may be problems, though. Franchisees normally pay a $1,000 initiation fee to be a part of the Cowboy’s tighty-whitey-wearing crew, but it was waived for David, who paid just $1. Burck’s manager tells us the Naked Indian will pay him 10 percent of his busking fee, but David, who says he makes up to $1,000 a day, says he won’t pony up for money earned on the street, only for appearances and endorsements. “No, no . . . Maybe it’s 1 percent?” he told us. The Naked Cowboy tried to smooth things over: “I wanna work with this guy so I don’t give a [bleep]. There’s going to be two kings of Times Square.” He added, “It’s contentious no matter what we do because he’s an Indian and I’m a cowboy.”
