Meryl Streep made a surprise appearance at the LA premiere of “August: Osage County” after skipping previous screenings because she’s filming “The Giver” with Katie Holmes in South Africa.
“Meryl was a surprise guest,” said a spy. “She wasn’t originally able to attend, but at the last minute was able to fly to LA to be with Julia Roberts and her castmates.”
It was the first time Streep and Roberts appeared together at a screening of the movie. We hear Roberts walked to the premiere at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live from her hotel.
Another unexpected reunion at the “August” showing was that of Harvey Weinstein and Miramax Chairman Tom Barrack. Weinstein and his brother Bob had inked a deal with Miramax earlier in the day, years after they sold the company to Disney, then unsuccessfully tried to buy it back.
