Lea Michele ‘proud’ of boyfriend Cory Monteith checking into rehab

Lea Michele is supporting her “Glee” costar and boyfriend Cory Monteith as he enters rehab for substance addiction.

“I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this,” she told People. “I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”

Michele and Monteith have been dating for about a year.

News broke last night that the 30-year-old actor entered rehab. He “voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction,” his publicist told People. “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps toward recovery.”

The Fox show released a statement yesterday: “Cory is a beloved member of the ‘Glee’ family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment. Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return.”

Monteith revealed to Parade magazine in 2011 that he had a “serious problem” with drugs. He first entered rehab at the age of 19.
