Freddie Mercury snuck disguised Princess Diana to gay bar

This is no April Fool’s joke. According to Cleo Rocos’ new book, Princess Diana had a night out with Freddie Mercury in a gay bar in the late ‘80s – and Diana was dressed as a man.

According to a Rocos’ new book, “The Power of Positive Drinking,” via The Sunday Times, the 80s television star recalls how she, comedian Kenny Everett and the Queen lead singer dressed Diana up in an army jacket, cap and sunglasses before hitting the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in south London.

“When we walked in…we felt she was obviously Princess Diana and would be discovered at any minute,” Rocos said, “But people just seemed to blank her. She sort of disappeared. But she loved it.”

Mercury, Everett and Rocos helped divert attention from the royal and she was even able to order drinks at the bar without being recognized.

Their night out came after an afternoon where the four apparently drank champagne in front of reruns of “The Golden Girls.”

Rocos’ wrote: “Diana was in full mischief mode. Freddie said, ‘Go on, let the girl have some fun.’”

The night out is thought to have happened in the late 80s when she was having troubles in her marriage to Prince Charles.
