Lawrence Taylor‘s lawyer, Arthur Aidala, is no stranger to controversial clients. Aidala — who was hired Thursday afternoon after Taylor was arrested on charges of raping a 16-year-old runaway in a Rockland County hotel — defended real estate developer Abe Hirschfeld in 1999 after he plotted to kill his business partner, Stanley Stahl, with whom he had a “survivor take all” arrangement.
The jury was dead locked, but Hirschfeld was later convicted of criminal solicitation and served two years in prison. Stahl died in 1999 of a stroke; Hirschfeld died in 2005 of complications from cancer. Last year, Aidala rep resented, pro bono, Brigitte Harris, the Staten Island woman who killed and castrated her fa ther, Eric Goodridge, following years of sexual and physical abuse. Harris is serving a 5-to-15-year sentence. Aidala is also a regular contributor to Fox News as a legal analyst and ap pears frequently on “Studio B with Shepard Smith.”
