‘Awesome’ NYPD cops return Keri Russell’s stolen goods

Actress Keri Russell’s Brooklyn brownstone was burglarized while she slept Wednesday — but she got her stolen items back in record time from NYPD cops she described as “awesome!”

“They’re bringing my stuff back right now. When does that ever happen?” Russell told The Post while on the set of her TV show, “The Americans,” less than 12 hours after the break-in.

“The New York City cops were awesome! Everyone is fine. Thank you for your concern.”

The former “Felicity” star, who now plays a spy in the FX hit, was asleep in the basement of her home on Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights at 3:40 a.m. when she was jolted awake by two voices.

She rushed upstairs and discovered her Filson bag, a MacBook laptop, a necklace and earrings missing. The thieves, who had entered through an open first-floor window, were gone, cops said.

The crooks then high-tailed it two blocks and tried to pull off the same stunt, police sources said. But an eagle-eyed Roberta Weisbrod, 70, spotted them climbing out a window with her own MacBook and iPad and called cops.

Police busted Ronald Swindell, 50, as he rode a bike on a sidewalk at Clinton Street and Atlantic Avenue at 5:42 a.m., sources said.

They also nabbed his nephew and alleged partner, Steffon Swindell, 19.

Neither has been charged for burglarizing Russell’s home, only Weisbrod’s. They were questioned at the 84th Precinct station house Wednesday and refused to speak to reporters during a perp walk.

Police said the NYPD officers were able to hand-deliver Russell her stolen stuff because they kept pictures of the items for evidence.

Ronald Swindell, who already has been convicted of burglary three times, was charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property for the Weisbrod break-in. Steffon Swindell was charged with burglary.

Later Wednesday night, former MTA boss Joe Lhota — who lives in the neighborhood — walked past Russell’s building and was told of the crime by reporters, prompting the failed mayoral candidate to crack a bitter joke.

“I told you guys this was gonna happen,” Lhota said.

He repeatedly criticized Mayor-elect bill de Blasio’s policing plans as weak during the campaign.
