Slim pickings at Abercrombie nude shoot

Posing half-naked for the Abercrombie & Fitch catalogs isn’t always as much fun as it looks. The 30 adult male and female models who were shot by Bruce Weber at Montauk’s Panoramic Hotel last week were working 13-hour days, an insider said, adding that ad agency Shahid & Co. monitored their drinking, eating and workouts around the clock. For the seven-day shoot, the women were supposedly paid $2,500 and the men $1,500 — a pittance compared to normal rates — with $13-a-day meal stipends. An agency supervisor booted Belgian model Florian Van Bael for eating a croissant at the wrong time, according to the buzz at Da Tommaso. Van Bael’s agent told Page Six, “I don’t think it’s a question about coffee or croissant, it’s just a question of respect during an important job.” Reps for Abercrombie & Fitch and Shahid didn’t respond to repeated requests for comment.
