Michelle Paterson yearns for privacy

Michelle Paterson is itching for her husband to leave office. “I’m happy to be getting my privacy back and being like everybody else in New York,” she told us. Michelle, who was feted by Debbie Bancroft over lunch at Park Avenue Tavern yesterday, hammered at the press in the same vein as her hubby, Gov. David Paterson, who accused the media of being dysfunctional on a morning radio show. Her biggest gripe about being first lady: “Not having my privacy. Total invasion . . . because you are a public figure I find that we can’t really sue the media and the press and I found that really disturbing . . . They just write whatever they want without checking the facts.” Michelle, flashing green contact lenses over her brown eyes, said, “Green is the only color that looks natural . . . I’ve been wearing them for a while.” Of Gov.-elect Andrew Cuomo‘s soon-to-be first girlfriend Sandra Lee, “I think she’s doing it, she has her own life and her own interests.” Michelle added she sees David’s future in radio, teaching, consulting or the energy industry.
