Simon Collins, the dean of fashion at Parsons The New School for Design, took a jab at Tommy Hilfiger during a screening of the documenary “Dressed” at Soho House the other night. Collins said regarding the film, “There are some who want to make beautiful dresses and there’s some who want to be the next Tommy Hilfiger.” Audience members all turned to Hilfiger, whose eyes “lit up in surprise.” The movie centers on designer Nary Manivong‘s struggle to launch his line, NAHM, in which Hilfiger’s daughter, Ally, eventually becomes a partner. We’re told Collins left the screening before a post-screening Q&A session.
