It only took two months, but the Times finally caught up to our story about the fight to restore Paris nightlife. In a double-bylined article yesterday, the paper breathlessly published what Page Six reported on Nov. 8: that 10,000 Parisians had signed a petition demanding tolerance for bars and nightclubs that are being fined and closed down by police because of noise complaints from sleepless neighbors. Actually, by yesterday the signers numbered more than 14,000. The Times also repeated what we reported on Nov. 27, that the city had set up a nonprofit Web portal, Paris Night life, to promote nocturnal merriment.
