Diva list kills J.Lo India gig

Jennifer Lopez was in talks to perform in front of 60 million viewers at the opening ceremony of India’s Premier League cricket tournament — but the deal fell apart over diva demands from her camp.

Sources tell us the pampered pop princess’ manager, Benny Medina, had asked that a private plane be made available for her, along with numerous hotel rooms to house her huge entourage, which included an army of stylists, assistants and a personal chef.

Officials at the Pepsi IPL balked at their demands and instead booked rapper Pitbull for the opening ceremony, next Tuesday, which will also feature some of Bollywood’s biggest stars.

A source told us, “The demands made on behalf of Jennifer were outrageous. She effectively priced herself out of the event. It was an idiotic move because the audience for this event is huge. It’s like the Super Bowl halftime show. Last year it drew 56 million viewers.”

The Bronx-born beauty is famous for her demands. In 2001 she arrived for a BBC interview with a 90-person entourage and ordered nine dressing rooms for the group.

And in 2011 it was revealed that the “Jenny from the Block” star used a body double to film a Fiat commercial showing her driving around The Bronx in a subcompact car and talking about how the neighborhood “inspired” her. In fact, she never left the West Coast.

And before she filmed a music video benefiting African AIDS victims in 2010, her team submitted a backstage rider that included items such as a 45-foot trailer, white drapes, Diptyque candles, white couches, white lilies, yellow roses with a red trim, white tablecloths, and apple pie (à la mode).

This week, Lopez denied a Star magazine report that she was “demanding her boyfriend Casper Smart sign a contract to protect her image and growing empire,” with a rep calling the story “inaccurate.”

A rep for Lopez last night said the reason she didn’t perform in India was because she is busy. The rep said, “An offer was made to perform; the date conflicted with Jennifer’s current music-recording schedule for an album due this summer.”
