CNN aggressively bid for rights to Bill O’Reilly’s book, “Killing Jesus.” But according to Zev Chafets’ new book, “Roger Ailes: Off Camera,” there’s no love lost between O’Reilly and CNN head Jeff Zucker, who formerly ran NBC. O’Reilly “harbors a special animosity toward [Zucker] . . . whom he calls, with typical understatement, ‘the lowest form of humanity,’ ” the book says. Adds O’Reilly, “Zucker decided to use MSNBC as a weapon to attack people . . . they launched personal attacks every night. How can you respect a news executive who allows that to happen?’” The book goes on to say, “At O’Reilly’s behest, [Fox News chief] Ailes called Zucker and asked him to call off the [anti-O’Reilly] campaign.”
