Chynna flip-flops on Baldwin divorce

Billy Baldwin‘s 18-year marriage to Chynna Phillips nearly ended in heartbreak when she filed for divorce on Friday — but then had a dramatic change of heart Sunday.

Baldwin, now filming “Gossip Girl” in New York, was shocked when Phillips instructed her lawyers to file in Santa Barbara.

But after an emotional weekend, the singer — who just completed treatment for anxiety following months of stress — told her attorneys to withdraw the bombshell divorce filing yesterday.

A source told Page Six, “Chynna has gone under a lot of personal and professional stress. The divorce petition came after a long and emotional buildup. But once it was filed, she realized she didn’t want to lose Billy and asked her lawyers to withdraw it.”

Phillips, who has three kids with Billy (daughters Jameson, 10, and Brooke, 5, and son Vance, 8), is the half-sister of former child actress Mackenzie Phillips, who claimed in a memoir last year that she had a decade-long sexual relationship with their father, John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas.

Last fall, Chynna, who said she had “personal struggles” with the news, admitted to People magazine: “I felt like all my plates were in the air and at any moment one would come crashing down . . . [I was afraid] I’d lose my footing and collapse into a puddle of tears.” People also described how Phillips was emotionally torn by leaving her children when she went on tour last year. She added, “We all have days when we feel like we’re tripping over ourselves with deadlines, children and husbands.”

Chynna and Baldwin’s manager, Lizzie Grubman, told us, “Every married couple has its up and downs, but they are two people who have been together for 18 years and are deeply in love. They will work through their personal issues and they are committed to staying together.”
