The Situation realized alcohol intake out of control while filming ‘Jersey Shore’: report

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino hit rock bottom while filming the most recent season of reality hit “Jersey Shore,” reports say.

With Sorrentino reported to have checked into rehab, sources tell TMZ that the hard-partying star’s substance abuse issues were progressively “getting worse” throughout the filming of season five of the series, which recently aired on MTV. Sources say that The Situation reached an all-time low on a camping trip with the show’s cast, noting that he was “acting paranoid” in addition to sweating profusely and appearing jittery.

REHAB SITUATION

The incident reportedly led Sorrentino to acknowledge that he had an alcohol problem. Sources tell the website that the “Jersey Shore” cast and crew is happy he is getting help, and hope that he will be well enough to join them for the recently announced sixth season of the show.

While Sorrentino’s rep denies that he is in rehab, she told Page Six he “has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule.”

The Situation implied that the rehab reports aren’t accurate, tweeting yesterday, “Don’t believe everything you read or hear.” And his site Sitch News posted: “This is just like the childhood game of ‘telephone’ – someone hears a small rumor and blows it out of proportion,” along with a clip of Adele’s song “Rumour Has It.”
