Gayle King and Newark Mayor Cory Booker stepped out together for a New York premiere of “The Hunger Games,” again sparking rumors that the power pair are dating. But while they walked the SVA Theatre red carpet arm-in-arm Tuesday, they “are friends of long standing and hang out a lot,” said a source, adding that “CBS This Morning” co-anchor King is single. Booker, meanwhile, was overheard telling guests he was hooked by the movie and he couldn’t wait to read the books to find out what happens next. At the Boom Boom Room party at the Standard Hotel following the Cinema Society and Calvin Klein screening, photographers’ flashes went off as Giants star Victor Cruz arrived with girlfriend Elaina Watley. Also at the bash were “Hunger” stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Stanley Tucci, as well as “SNL” comic Seth Meyers, Zoe Kravitz, “Inglourious Basterds” beauty Melanie Laurent and Alan Cumming. Lionsgate seemed to break one of its own rules after the studio sent out invites that came with the warning, “Please note: The Boom Boom Room is a nightclub and will not admit anyone under the age of 21.” But the PG-13 film’s young stars, including Josh Hutcherson, 19, and Isabelle Fuhrman, 15, were two of a raft of teen VIP guests spotted. Other school-aged sensations there included Abigail Breslin, 15, “Wizards of Waverly Place” star Jake T. Austin, 17, and Stephanie Seymour’s about-town boys Peter Brant II and Harry. A rep for the event said exceptions were made for talent and filmmakers.
