First image of young Carrie Bradshaw in ‘The Carrie Diaries’

AnnaSophia Robb has officially stepped in to Carrie Bradshaw’s Manolo Blahniks.

Warner Bros TV has released its first image of Robb in the show “The Carrie Diaries,” the “Sex and the City” prequel that follows Bradshaw through high school in the 1980s, long before she meets pals Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER PENS LETTER TO NEW CARRIE BRADSHAW

In the image, posted by Deadline, Robb does the original Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker, proud. Robb’s hair has been wildly curled to match Parker’s tresses, and her ensemble certainly keeps with Bradshaw’s unique fashion sense. In the photo, Robb wears a silver sequined dress topped with a lime green, leopard-print cardigan. She ties the look together with a heart-shaped belt and, of course, matching red stilettos.

In “The Carrie Diaries,” high schooler Bradshaw has not yet moved to New York City. But in the image, Robb walks across a rooftop in Queens, with the iconic Manhattan skyline glittering in the distance.

Executive producer Amy B. Harris, who is a “Sex and the City” alum, tells Deadline that she knew instantly that Robb was right for the part.

“Having been a part of the ‘Sex and the City’ series, I felt such an honor and responsibility to the fans of the show to find someone who embodied the spirit of Manhattan’s favorite ‘It’ girl,” Harris told the site. “When AnnaSophia Robb walked into the room, we knew we had found her. Her grace, intelligence, sense of fun and her empathetic nature make her the perfect girl to bring our young Carrie to life.”

Robb has even gotten Parker’s stamp of approval.

“She sent me a letter!” Robb excitedly told Us Weekly. “She was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!”

“The Carrie Diaries” is expected to air on The CW in the fall. It is based on the book by Candace Bushnell of the same name. It comes from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the team behind the series “Gossip Girl.”
