“Arbitrage” director Nicholas Jarecki says Richard Gere disappeared into his role as a power-mad hedge-funder. “He said, ‘It’s a good script,’ and we started rehearsing right there,” Jarecki recalled to cable host Rebecca Kudryavsky of first meeting the star at the Bedford Post Inn. “I played the girlfriend . . . I said, ‘You’ll never leave your wife!’ He said, ‘I am leaving my wife!’ . . . then threw me up against the wall and stared deeply into my eyes with this seductive look. I said, ‘Y’know, I’d kiss you right now,’ ” Jarecki joked.
