Derek Jeter is back in New York, on crutches. The Yankee captain, in a gray sweatsuit, hobbled into Southern Hospitality in Hell’s Kitchen with six friends on Monday night. His group settled in the restaurant and bar’s back room, which was curtained off. Despite the Yankees’ dismal playoff performance, Jeter still won a warm reception from fans. A spy told us, “As he hobbled out after dinner, a group of fans on the street were yelling, ‘We love you Derek. You’ll be back to win next year.’ ”
