The Rev. Jesse Jackson enjoyed a rather expensive meal after being taken into police custody in Illinois Wednesday during a protest over lost jobs. Thursday night, the activist was spotted at Vareli in Morningside Heights, eating after ordering from the late-night menu. “He was there with nearly 20 Columbia University professors,” says the spy. “They were seated in the uber-pricey private dining room, which fetches $10,000 a night for dinner. He later kicked a bunch of people out for an ultra-private meeting with a select few.” Jackson was among several people arrested while protesting Sensata Technologies over job loss due to a decision to relocate manufacturing.
