Zapata, known for his close relationships with celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, has painted Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan, who was driving his Porsche last month when she was accused and later cleared of hitting a pedestrian in the Meatpacking District. “Lindsay is a very good friend, and I love her very much,” he said. The party later carried on until 6 a.m. in the hotel penthouse, which the artist uses as his New York studio, with friends including snowboarder Shaun White and Pietro Tavallini.
