Gov. Paterson and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver had some business Wednesday over kosher surf and turf (sushi and steaks) at Prime Grill. Paterson was overheard discussing the possibility of forcing David Mack to resign as vice chairman of the MTA or forcibly removing the wealthy Long Island developer from his government position. Mack put his foot in it in July, when he said he wouldn’t ride the rails if he couldn’t ride for free. “Why should I ride and inconvenience myself when I can ride in a car?” asked Mack. Not a great advocate for mass transit.
