Meghan McCain glad her father didn’t win presidency

Meghan McCain doesn’t have Sasha/Malia Obama envy. A source told Page Six that John McCain’s often outspoken daughter was overheard during a private dinner at Norwood’s Club Room last week jokingly saying she was glad her father didn’t win the 2008 election against Barack Obama because “she isn’t suited to be a first daughter.”

The MSNBC contributor was celebrating the release of Buzzfeed reporter’s Michael Hastings’ new book “PANIC 2012” and had a late-night meal with her speaking agent David Buchalter, Seth Meyers, Elizabeth Wurtzel, CNN contributors Jon Avlon and his wife Margaret Hoover, and BuzzFeed top dogs Ben Smith and Jon Steinberg.

Meghan admitted in her March 2012 interview with Playboy that had her father been elected President, “You would have the craziest first daughter ever, who’d be making ridiculous headlines and hurting the administration every step of the way. That aside, I think Dad would have made an incredible president.”
