Tina Fey working on ‘Mean Girls’ musical

A “Mean Girls” musical? That’s so fetch.

Tina Fey confessed at the SAG Awards last night that she’s working on bringing The Plastics and their instantly quotable lines to the stage.

“Maybe! We want to. I would love to,” Fey said to E! News. “I’m trying to develop it actually with my husband, who does all the music for ‘30 Rock’ and I think Paramount’s on board”

And when asked about Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj’s recent “Mean Girls” feud on “American Idol,” Fey mentioned that she was impressed with Carey’s knowledge of the characters in the movie. (The two bickered over who was the bigger fan of the movie.)

She suggested that the diva would be a great candidate for the role of Regina George’s pink track suit wearing mother.

Fey, who “loved” the argument on “Idol,” jokingly said: “I think Mariah won. Like, Mariah seemed to really know all the characters. Maybe she can play Amy Poehler’s part in the musical.”

No word on whether Fey would ask back Lindsay Lohan to revisit her starring role as Cady Heron.
