Nigella reveals what she binged on after trial

TV chef Nigella Lawson drowned her sorrows in chocolate after the “mortifying” trial of two, former personal assistants that shined harsh light on the foodie’s opulent lifestyle and cocaine use.

In her first public comments since the London trial ended in acquittal of two former aides accused of stealing from her and her multimillionaire art collector ex-hubby Charles Saatchi, the Food Network star said the courtroom drama took an emotional toll.

“My only desire really was to protect my children as much as possible which I wasn’t alas …I couldn’t do,” Lawson, 53, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday.

Keeping a stiff upper lip, Lawson then revealed her favorite, feel-good ingredient.

“You know since then, I’ve eaten a lot of chocolate,” the sexy kitchen duchess deadpanned, drawing laughs from the “GMA” studio audience. “We had a very good Christmas.”

Lawson  was forced to testify against her two former aides, was forced to admit under oath that she binged on cocaine and marijuana.

The two aides claimed they had permission from her to lavish themselves with gifts with household credit cards, in part to keep quiet about Lawson’s drug use.

Lawson, a judge on ABC’s cooking competition “The Taste,” whose season premiers tonight, insisted she’s not the addict that defense lawyers painted her to be.

“To have not only your private life but distortions of your private life put on display is mortifying,” Lawson told “GMA,”  “but there are people going through an awful lot worse and to dwell on any of it would be self-pity and I don’t like to do that.”
