Keira Knightley not in favor of English monarchy

Like many citizens of the United Kingdom, you can count on Keira Knightley being excited over the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby-to-be. She, however, is less than impressed with the monarchy itself.

“I’m over the moon about the royal baby,” said the Marie Claire cover girl in her interview. “But I really can’t mount an argument in favor of the monarchy. Is that treason? Do I have to turn in my passport?”

You also won’t find the actress, who’s engaged to Klaxons keyboardist James Righton, celebrating her big day with a grand Kate-and-Will style Royal Wedding.

“We’re not really big-wedding types,” she told the magazine. “I don’t need to have all that.”

Knightley, 27, opened up a bit about her rocker fiancé. “I’m not someone who listens to a lot of music. But I get wonderful perspective by being with someone who is less like me than more like me. The way he thinks is something I don’t get. We come at things from totally different angles.”
