Tina Fey hosted the American Museum of Natural History’s gala Thursday and drew laughs with her political barbs.
“It’s going to be weird to have a Democratic mayor,” she told the crowd, which included Mayor Bloomberg.
“After 12 years of that hardcore, right-wing nut Bloomberg, am I right? With his gay marriage and his bike lanes. We’ll have a new mayor come January. Bill de Blasio . . . which is great news because it means that the people in this room are finally free from random stop-and-frisks . . . I guess I’m probably not talking to Jay [Pharoah.]”
Pharoah was there with the rest of the “SNL” cast including Seth Meyers, Nasim Pedrad, Taran Killam and head honcho Lorne Michaels, who is on the museum’s board.
Fey quipped: “Not one day goes by that someone on a bike doesn’t curse at me. Hey, bike people, what are you so angry about? . . . If you’re an emergency heart surgeon going to an emergency on your bike, don’t curse at me. Just yell, like, ‘Heart surgeon!’ and I’ll move.”
And about Christmas in New York: “It’s my favorite time of the year. It’s the magical time when all the smells freeze over.”
