“Star Wars” filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, Melody Hobson welcomed a daughter into the universe on Friday, according to the Huffington Post.
Everest Hobson Lucas, delivered via surrogate, is the first biological child for the parents. Lucas has three other adopted children, Amanda, 32; Katie, 25; and Jett, 20.
Lucas, 69, married the 44-year-old Ariel Investments president at a ceremony in Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, California.
The little bundle of joy arrived at an interesting time for Lucas, who sold Lucasfilm to Disney in Oct. 2012 for a staggering $4.05 billion.
J.J. Abrams, director of the new Star Trek franchise, has since agreed to direct Stars Wars Episode VII, which is set for a summer 2015 release.
