Rachael Ray and her magazine, Every Day With Rachael Ray, are upset that Good Housekeeping put Ray on its July cover without her blessing. GH used quotes from Ray taken from previous interviews and used images by photographer Jim Wright that were outtakes from a February 2008 cover shoot for Every Day. Sources said GH had asked repeatedly to feature Ray on its cover, but she always refused because the cooking queen appears on her own magazine’s cover every month. “We are disappointed that a respected publication such as Good Housekeeping is essentially using, without permission, Rachael’s image, words and thoughts in an attempt to sell a few more magazines,” an Every Day spokesman said. A GH rep responded, “The photo expresses her personality, and we hope the story gives readers a snapshot of her busy life, career and passion for entertaining.”
