Tribeca Film Festival co-founders divorcing

Tribeca Film Festival co-founders Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff are divorcing after 19 years of marriage.

Sources exclusively tell Page Six the power couple — who co-founded the Tribeca festival with Robert De Niro after 9/11 to breathe new life into lower Manhattan — have been living apart “for a few months” and have decided to formally end their marriage. But we’re told that despite the split, Rosenthal and Hatkoff, who have two daughters, will continue to work together.

A festival spokesperson confirmed to Page Six: “After 19 years of marriage, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff have agreed to separate. They will continue to work together on Tribeca Film Festival and Tribeca-related business.”

A source added that there was “no third party involved; their relationship has changed.”

Rosenthal, one of New York’s most powerful women, is one of a handful of Hollywood producers, including Harvey Weinstein and Scott Rudin, who remain based in the city. As De Niro’s producing partner, her credits have included the “Meet the Parents” and “Analyze This” franchises, as well as “About a Boy,” which she’s currently producing as an NBC series with De Niro, to star Minnie Driver and to be directed by J
on Favreau of the “Iron Man” films.

According to a New York magazine profile, she met real-estate financier Hatkoff when he was representing De Niro on a real-estate project. The couple shared homes at The Dakota and in Bridgehampton, with Hatkoff telling the mag, “Jane is a doer, and our entire marriage has been about working on projects together.”

His festival work included landing sponsors such as American Express and AT&T. The couple became involved in Democratic fund-raising in 1997, and hosted an event at their apartment where Bill Clinton famously played the saxophone.

Much has been written about the working relationship between hard-charging Rosenthal and the more introverted De Niro. When asked by the magazine how she handles him, she responded, “I have a talent for dealing with difficult men.”
