VIPs have minds on ‘Grey’ at ‘Mr. Banks’ screening

Insiders at a VIP screening of Disney’s “Saving Mr. Banks” Wednesday were also buzzing about a very different hot Hollywood project, “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Guests at a Monkey Bar reception were clamoring to get to the film’s writer, Kelly Marcel — who also penned the screenplay for the in-production adaptation of E.L. James’ bondage epic.

Spies said Marcel was in town for the “Saving Mr. Banks” screening at MoMA after having been on the Vancouver set of her (radically different) “Fifty Shades” project with stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan. But, we hear, Marcel was tight-lipped about all the racy details.

Meantime, “Saving Mr. Banks” producer Alison Owen is also the mother of Lily Allen, the “Smile” singer who’s making her big comeback since a 2009 hiatus, and Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy on “Game of Thrones.”

Owen was overheard saying that Lily hosted a screening in London of “Saving Mr. Banks” for all her rocker friends, and she’ll spend the holidays with her kids before Alfie heads back to the set of his hit HBO series.
