Abercrombie & Fitch has discontinued a T-shirt that mocks Taylor Swift’s varied love life after her legion of “Swifties” responded in outrage.
The tee (below) read, “# more boyfriends than t.s.”
The 23-year-old’s long list of exes include Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Conor Kennedy and Harry Styles.
A change.org petition was launched urging the label to pull the item from stores, because it was “hurtful to Taylor Swift and Swifties everywhere!”
“It’s unprofessional for such a huge company to insult and poke fun at a celebrity in one of their t-shirts,” a Swift supporter wrote. “Besides, none of them knows exactly what goes on in Taylor’s private life.”
A self-described Swiftie named posted a YouTube video over her concerns, garnering more than 17,000 views in just three days. The fan insisted that she would never shop at the teen retailer again.
A&F has recorded a message on those calling the PR office saying, “Thank you for calling Abercrombie & Fitch public relations. If you are calling regarding the Taylor Swift T-shirt, please note that this is no longer available.”
