Dante’s Afro style spreads to city basketball courts

With the sag in popularity of the mayor and his wife (Fox 5’s saucy GM Lew Leone calls her Co-Mayor Chirlane), one de Blasio is leading the way: All over the city, teenage boys on basketball courts are sprouting Afros.

“We call it Dante’s infernal hairdo,” laughed one tonsorial hoopster.


Critics are raving over “Black Chalk,” the debut novel by Brit ex-pat (and spouse of The Post’s Margi Conklin) Christopher J. Yates, about six Oxford students who play an elaborate mind game involving embarrassment, humiliation and murder.

In a starred review of the book, which is out April 1, Publishers Weekly says: “Psychological thrillers don’t get much more complex or twisted.”
