Friars Club Roast of Quentin Tarantino tickles his foot fetish

Comedians at yesterday’s Friars Club Roast of Quentin Tarantino mercilessly sent up the “Pulp Fiction” director’s obsession with Uma Thurman and his fetish for women’s feet.

Roastmaster Samuel L. Jackson, Jerry Lewis, Sarah Silverman, Rob Schneider, Richard Belzer and others hurled their best zingers at Tarantino in front of more than 2,000 guests at the New York Hilton.

Jeffrey Ross cracked that Tarantino was “the only director in history that, after the actresses [bleep] him, they turn down the role.” And, “If you didn’t shout ‘action,’ you wouldn’t get any.” Adding insult to injury, “You changed the face of cinema, I just wish cinema would return the favor.”

In a career highlight for Tarantino — who’s well-known to have a foot fetish and included lingering foot shots of Thurman in “Kill Bill” — the actress toasted him by taking off her Louboutin heels, handing one to him and pouring wine into both shoes. She and Tarantino then drank from them.

While many of the jokes can’t be printed in a family newspaper, some were too much even for the roast audience. “Inglourious Basterds” star Eli Roth drew groans when he said, “Quentin has an obsession with movies, Uma and women’s feet. He has a bigger collection of shoes than Dachau,” the infamous Nazi concentration camp.

Many poked fun at Tarantino’s habit of borrowing ideas from past films for his own. Silverman told the crowd, “Tarantino is a Japanese word meaning film plagiarism.”

Whitney Cummings had her own off-color take: “[Tarantino has] produced more retarded things than Sarah Palin‘s vagina.” She added, “Quentin, you have ripped off so many directors that when I Googled you for this, it came up with, “Did you mean [‘Scarface’ director] Brian De Palma?”

Cummings teased the audience, “There are so many old white conservatives here today that during the silent auction, someone tried to put a bid on Sam Jackson.”
