Derek Jeter made an effort to take his mind off tense contract negotiations with the Yankees by taking his talents to South Beach last weekend. On Saturday night, Jeter and his agent, Casey Close, had dinner at Prime One Twelve. Spies said Jeter was friendly to all fans who approached him, one of whom asked if he’d be in pinstripes next season. “We will see,” Jeter cryptically replied. Later, the slugger popped up at the W South Beach and sat with a group of male friends. Then, “three girls in short, skin-tight dresses, sky-high heels and overdone makeup strategically placed themselves near his table in an effort to meet him,” a witness reports. “Jeter eventually introduced himself and the girls ended up sitting with his group. He politely chatted most of the time with one exotic brunette who wore a tiny tight dress, but after 30 minutes, he paid his group’s tab and left with his boys towards the elevators.” The disappointed ladies ended up leaving the hotel shortly after.
