Some may wonder how 54-year-old Eliot Spitzer managed to keep his affair with Bill de Blasio flack Lis Smith, 31, under wraps for so long. But it appears the Luv Gov employed a very basic trick: Most people thought Smith was his daughter. Back in October, Señor Black Socks was seen dining at Raoul’s in Soho with three younger women. Our source, who was with her boyfriend at the next table, assumed the women were his daughters and told us, “The tables are really close together, and a younger girl knocked over my drink all over me accidentally with her purse . . . the girl was so apologetic and nice, and the guy with her was being really nice, too. Then I realized the guy was Eliot Spitzer at dinner with three girls. When our bill came, they told us it was already taken care of. Spitzer paid for all of our drinks, appetizers, dinner and was so humble and nice about it. I’ve never been a big fan of his, but he was really cool about everything.” The female diner didn’t even become suspicious when Spitzer later kindly offered her relationship advice. She continued, “My boyfriend and I got in a fight, and he ended up leaving before me. Spitzer’s group of gals were offering relationship advice. Even Spitzer got in on the conversation offering a kind word about working things out.” On Tuesday, our witness admitted, “The girl who knocked over my drink was the one on the front of the New York Post with Spitzer.” She must be relieved she never listened to his relationship advice.
