Mitt Romney’s camp has its eye on an endorsement from top Democratic donor and “Power Rangers” creator Haim Saban, who told us the GOP presidential front-runner is a “worthy candidate.” Sources say the ex-Massachusetts gov’s team is working on scoring an A-list endorsement from the Jewish advocate and entertainment billionaire who has donated heavily to Dems. Saban, who has yet to donate to Obama’s reelection campaign, has expressed dissatisfaction with the president’s stance on Israel. He has said that he would donate to Obama’s campaign if asked. “Haim is a big get,” a source said. “It’s a signal to Democrats in Hollywood that it’s OK to abandon Obama.” A rep for Saban told us, “Mr. Saban believes Romney is a worthy candidate. However, he has never spoken to him or any of his aides.” Sources say Romney also hopes to land an endorsement from Steve Wynn before the Las Vegas debates on Tuesday. Wynn, a friend of John McCain, is said to be close to giving Romney his support, which could help the candidate’s standing in Nevada, where Gov. Brian Sandoval has endorsed Romney’s opponent Rick Perry. Sands and Venetian resort billionaire Sheldon Adelson, a close friend of Newt Gingrich, is another big Vegas backer the Romney camp is eager to score. “Does gunning for Wynn mean you lose Adelson?” a source mused. Wynn didn’t get back to us.
