Shia LaBeouf is really over his mainstream blockbuster phase. The “Transformers” star recently said he’s ready to go all the way for his newest artsy flick ‘Nymphomaniac,’ directed by provocateur Lars Von Trier.
The “Melancholia” director’s latest movie will be reportedly shot in two versions, with the more explicit version to feature unsimulated sex scenes.
“There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says, we’re doing [the sex] for real,” said LaBeouf to MTV in a chat promoting his new film “Lawless” in theaters August 29. “And anything that is ‘illegal’ will be shot in blurred images, but other than that, everything is happening.”
Movieline reports that Charlotte Gainsbourg will play the lead in “Nymphomaniac,” and Von Trier wants to “see the sexual arousement of a girl on screen.” Stellan Skarsgard and Nicole Kidman are also reportedly attached to the film.
LaBeouf is no stranger to baring all in the name of art – he famously bared all for Icelandic band Sigur Ros’ eight-and-a-half minute music video.
Page Six reported that LaBeouf is such a dedicated method actor that he drank moonshine for his role as a Prohibition-era bootlegger in his upcoming film “Lawless,” even though he gave up drinking.
