After UFC Ceo and co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta snapped up Muhammad Ali’s gloves from a famous 1965 fight for a whopping $1.1 million this year, some more historic mitts are going on the market. Celebrity photographer Michael Simon and producer Seth Ersoff are auctioning off two pairs of gloves together — used by Ali and Sonny Liston in their legendary 1964 bout in Miami. The gloves are going up for sale for $2 million, we’re told. In ’64, Ali was still fighting as Cassius Clay, and he infamously upset Liston to become the youngest-ever heavyweight champion, at 22. Liston lost when he refused to fight past the sixth round. Fertitta’s gloves were used in Ali’s fight against Floyd Patterson a year later.
