K-Stew apologizes for cheating on Robert Pattinson

“Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart made a heartfelt, public apology for cheating on her boyfriend, “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson.

Stewart has been caught on camera kissing “Snow White and the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders, who is married with two children. People.com reported Wednesday afternoon that the actress has sent a heart-wrenching apology Wednesday afternoon directed towards Pattinson.

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” Stewart said in a statement.

Sanders is married to British Vogue model Liberty Ross, who also appeared in “Snow White.”

Following Stewart’s lead, Sanders also released a statement saying, “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family,” TMZ reported.

“My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”

Stewart and Pattinson have been linked as a couple since the first installment of the “Twilight” series was released four years ago. They recently have become more public about their relationship, having been photographed holding hands at various events and kissing in public. The couple attended the 2012 Teen Choice Awards in California together on Sunday.

But photos were published in this week’s US Weekly of Stewart, 22, kissing Sanders, 41, who directed Stewart in “Snow White” in what was described by the magazine as a “marathon makeout session” on July 17.

Stewart’s camp tried to play down the kiss caught on camera between Stewart and Sanders, with one source explaining to People.com Wednesday morning the incident was “just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened,” adding: “She never meant to hurt anyone.”

But apparently the kiss was enough to warrant an apology to Pattinson, 26, by midday.
