Only one week after announcing that she suffered from a heart attack, Rosie O’Donnell revealed that she has tied the knot with Michelle Rounds.
The couple quietly wed on on June 9. They moved up their planned wedding after Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare disease that only affects three out of every one million people.
The comedian posted the happy news on her blog: “We married in private before her surgery just the 2 of us. When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish.”
“Thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times,” she continues in the post. “Including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible strands of wi fi.”
According to a People report, the two announced their engagement in December and had planned their nuptials for August, but Rounds’ diagnosis pushed the couple to move up their wedding date.
“It is such a rare tumor. It took them quite a while to get an accurate diagnosis,” O’Donnell’s rep Cindi Berger said “She had several gastrointestinal surgeries to remove the desmoid turmors. She is now on the road to recovery.”
This is the second marriage for O’Donnell, who has four children with ex Kelli Carpenter.
