Toronto Film Festival hotspots compete for A-listers

As films compete at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival for prizes and Oscar buzz, hot spots will battle to attract hordes of Hollywood types in need of parties north of the border. Soho House is launching its permanent Toronto club by hosting soirees with Grey Goose for films starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kristen Wiig and Robert De Niro. Meanwhile, the multilevel space used by Soho House last year has been taken over by AMC Networks and Virgin Mobile for bashes for movies starring Colin Farrell, Chris Evans, Zac Efron, Jennifer Connelly, Lily Collins and Winona Ryder. And Amy Sacco’s launching a Bungalow 8 pop-up at the Thompson rooftop. Further VIPs at Toronto, kicking off Sept. 6, include Kate Hudson (right), whose “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” opened the Venice Film Festival last night, plus Ryan Gosling, Keira Knightley, Tom Hanks, Jake Gyllenhaal, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bill Murray, Shia LaBeouf and Robert Redford.
