Playboy mag tries for tasteful

Playboy is trying to become hipper and more tasteful, we can reveal, and is seeking advice from art curator Neville Wakefield and downtown style setter Jenne Lombardo. The company confirmed it has hired both as consultants on special projects. Sources told us they’ve tapped Wakefield and Lombardo to work with Playboy’s marketing department as the media empire looks to reposition itself as a more upscale men’s brand. Rumors had swirled that Playboy magazine editorial director Jimmy Jellinek was about to be replaced by Wakefield, but we’re told it isn’t true. A Playboy rep said, “There are no planned changes in the magazine’s editorial leadership.”
