Kyra Kennedy belle of Paris ball

Kyra Kennedy, the daughter of Robert Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Richardson Kennedy, is ready to be the belle of the dazzling Bal des Débutantes in Paris.

Kyra, 18, has been fitted for a gown by Christian Dior for Saturday’s event, which sees 20 debutantes selected by organizer Ophélie Renouard dance the night away in dresses from Paris’ poshest couture houses. Her father will accompany her to the ball.

Other guests include Francesca Packer Barham, granddaughter of media tycoon Kerry Packer, Larry David’s daughter Romy David, Akshita Bhanjdeo of India’s Bhanja dynasty, Filipino beauty Monica Urquijo Zobel and Lady Amelia Windsor, the granddaughter of a cousin of Queen Elizabeth.

At her dress fitting, Kyra, who has interned for Dior and Kenneth Cole and hopes to attend FIT, told AFP, “It’s my first time wearing haute couture.”

The event, at the Automobile Club of France in Paris, is based on the balls that were once a British society staple. But instead of hoping to find husbands, the emphasis is on philanthropy and networking.
