Sometimes when worlds collide, fictional ones at least, you end up with a good photo op.

That’s just what happened at Monday’s annual Cosmo 100 luncheon when the original Carrie Bradshaw came face to face with her younger self. That’s right, Sarah Jessica Parker and AnnaSophia Robb met for the first time.

Parker, of course, portrayed the hopeless romantic on HBO’s “Sex and the City” across six seasons and two theatrical movies.

Robb currently plays the high school-aged Bradshaw in the CW’s “The Carrie Diaries.” The drama, which is in its second season, is a look at the writer’s younger years in 1980s New York, as she runs around town balancing school, an internship at a law firm and and gets into all sort of teenage hijinx.

Though the two had never met before, Robb says she received a letter from the former Carrie when she was cast as Bradshaw in “The Carrie Diaries.”

“[S]he wrote me a letter when I landed the role wishing me luck and said she knew it was in good hands,” Robb told the UK tabloid Metro last year. “It was very comforting.”
