Met antique instruments inspire Disney flick

If teapots and candlesticks can sing and dance (as in the animated classic “Beauty and the Beast”), why not lutes and horns?

A source tells me that Disney is developing an animated feature inspired by the antique musical-instruments department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. (There are rumors that this is where Dick Cheney was hidden in the aftermath of 9/11.)

“They made everyone there sign agreements they wouldn’t talk about it,” said our source.

The Met follows in the footsteps of the American Museum of Natural History, which saw its statues and taxidermied animals come to “life” in “Night at the Museum” and its sequel.
